Busta Rhymes Slapped With Lawsuit For Lying About A Warrant To Skip Out On Scheduled Concert

Busta Rhymes has been slapped with a lawsuit for skipping out on a scheduled performance and lying about the circumstances that forced his absence.

In court documents obtained by The @Blast, 808 Entertainment said the incident occurred back in January, after the company came to an agreement with the rapper about a New Jersey event scheduled for April 21, 2018. As part of the deal, Busta agreed to host the event at Ukrainian Culture Center and perform 2-3 verses from three of his songs for $17,000, $8,750 at signing and the rest ahead of the show.

However, after widespread promotion, Busta pulled out of the event, claiming he had to be in court the same day to deal with a warrant for child support. Problem is, the show was on a Saturday, which raised red flags for the company, as they were “aware that no Federal Courts are open on weekends.”

To make matters worse, 808 said they later saw the rapper promoting a performance for an event in Scottsdale on the same night as the New Jersey event but the difference is he actually showed up to that performance.

So now, 808 is demanding $2.1 million in the lawsuit for damaging their reputation and causing substantial business losses.
