Mase Calls Out Diddy

Cam’ron reveals that fellow Harlem rapper Mase has resolved his enduring publishing disputes with Diddy.

Last Wednesday, the Dipset associate extended his congratulations to his co-host for successfully reclaiming his publishing rights from Diddy. This signifies the conclusion of their prolonged disagreement. Alongside promoting his upcoming project, The Lost Files, Cam also mentioned that Mase completed the necessary documentation earlier in the week, enabling him to reorganize the distribution of his music.

“My n*gga murder had to sit this one out. He just got his publishing back from Puff. Just finished the paper work for that yesterday. Congrats @rsvpmase while he getting his music back in order, I’m dumping my hard drive pause. The lost files vol 1. Sept 8,” Cam’ron wrote.

Although Mase parted ways with Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment in 2006, the strained relationship between these two artists from Harlem reached a critical point during the 2020 pre-Grammy Clive Davis gala. At the event, Diddy delivered a speech addressing the inadequate recognition of Black artists. Accepting the Icon Award, he candidly stated, “Truth be told, hip-hop has never been respected by the Grammys. Black music has never been respected by the Grammys to the point that it should be.”

Shortly after, Mase retaliated on Instagram, expressing his discontent with Diddy’s business dealings that he deemed “extremely unfair.” The rapper also asserted that he had encountered obstacles preventing him from regaining control of his publishing rights.

“You bought it for about $20K & I offered you $2 mil in cash. This is not Black excellence at all,” Mase wrote at the time.
