Candace Owens has released audio from a private Zoom call featuring Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk, recorded just 11 days after the death of her husband, Charlie Kirk. The clip, shared on Owens’ YouTube channel, shows Kirk speaking in an upbeat tone while reviewing logistics and outcomes tied to a large memorial event held in her husband’s honor.
Owens framed the timing as the central issue. In the video, she says, “I want to remind you that Charlie has not been dead for two weeks,” arguing the call doubled as a leadership handoff rather than a moment of mourning. She also described the meeting as an effort to formally position Erika Kirk as the organization’s new leader.
In the leaked audio, Kirk opens with enthusiasm. “Hi everybody, I still love these emojis, Zoom, haha, things. I don’t even know where to begin, the fact that we were able to pull off an event of the century. Like it’s just insane,” she says. Kirk notes the scale of the gathering, saying the “stadium overflowed” with more than 275,000 attendees and that over 200,000 merchandise items were sold.
She then thanks multiple departments. “I want to thank the events team, the development team, the graphic design team, the production team,” she says, adding that staff worked “20-hour days for a week during the time of us grieving the loss of my husband.” Calling employees “breathing angels,” Kirk urges internal unity, saying, “I don’t care if any of you have beef with each other.”
She closes with a stark line. “My husband’s dead, like I’m not trying to be morbid, but he’s dead, and it puts life into perspective of how short it is.”
Owens has since alleged internal loyalty checks within the organization, claims that have not been confirmed or denied. The memorial referenced took place on September 21, 2025, at State Farm Stadium, days after Charlie Kirk was killed at a university event in Utah.
