Cardi B has confirmed that she is related to Glorilla.
In a recent interview with Big Boy, Cardi B revealed that GloRilla, who casually referred to the Bronx rapper as her cousin in 2022, is indeed a relative of hers. The conversation arose as Big Boy playfully teased Cardi for not previously disclosing to him that she had collaborated with Shakira on a song when he had asked her about it in a past conversation.
“Did you do [a song] with GloRilla because she’s a liar as well?” Big Boy jokingly said.
Cardi responded, “I didn’t lie! That’s my cousin!”
Additionally, Cardi then elaborated on their familial ties, explaining that her grandfather, whom she mentioned “used to push weight,” had once resided in Tennessee, hinting that his relocation was likely linked to his involvement in that line of work.
“[H]e didn’t really told my grandma that he was dealing with somebody over there,” Cardi explained. “He had a kid out there, and that’s GloRilla’s dad. So that’s what make us related.”
Cardi further explained that she and GloRilla only became aware of their relation after meeting and discovering numerous similarities between them.
“I asked her, ‘You just feel like we’re too much alike? You get my jokes and everything,’” she added. “She’s just like, ‘Yeah. There’s something funny. Something really weird.’ So we just [started asking around].”
