Cardi B may be publicly clashing with Stefon Diggs, but she still jumped into the middle of his escalating legal war with Chris Griffith and made it clear she does not believe the allegations against the father of her youngest child. The Grammy winning rapper unloaded on social media Tuesday, arguing that Griffith has changed key parts of his story and questioning why an allegation that Diggs exposed himself was not, in her telling, included in his earliest account.
Cardi admitted during an X Spaces that she hated defending Diggs while the two were dealing with their own personal drama, but said she could not stay quiet because she believed Griffith’s claims were inconsistent. She also accused Griffith of being obsessed with the NFL receiver and pushed back against his claim that people connected to Diggs robbed him.
Griffith quickly entered the comments and responded without directly attacking Cardi.
“I have too much respect for Bardi (and women in general) for me to [say] anything disparaging back to her, but mama please take off the blinders,” he wrote.
He then challenged the idea that Cardi fully understood the history between him and Diggs.
“My time around [that group of people] predates you,” Griffith said, before rejecting the theft allegation and maintaining that he was the person robbed by Diggs’ associates.
Griffith also made it clear that he views the public scrutiny surrounding the case as humiliating.
“You know how embarrassing it is have to face this foolishness everyday?” he added.
The online exchange is the latest layer in a civil battle that began after Diggs sued Griffith for defamation in October 2025. Diggs denied drugging or sexually assaulting Griffith and described the accusations as “pure fiction.” His complaint said the two attended clubs with other people after a charity basketball game in Washington, D.C., in May 2023, returned to his Maryland home and eventually separated for the night.
Diggs alleged his assistant asked Griffith to leave and accused him of later inventing the story for social media attention. He is seeking damages and attorneys’ fees, claiming the posts harmed his reputation and business relationships.
Griffith denied Diggs’ accusations and filed a counterclaim alleging sexual battery. According to the filing, Griffith said Diggs repeatedly offered him candy and that he felt disoriented after eating it.
He alleged Diggs exposed himself and masturbated during a car ride, attempted to kiss him after they arrived at the house and later placed his tongue in Griffith’s ear while telling him to come to his bedroom. Griffith said he did not consent to any sexual contact or advances. Diggs has denied that account.
The counterclaim also alleged that Griffith hid in a bathroom for approximately 45 minutes before encountering Diggs’ brother, Darez Diggs, and two women. Griffith claimed they threatened him, accused him of stealing, stripped him and assaulted him.
He further alleged that one week later, Darez and others attacked him near an elevator at his Los Angeles apartment building and stole more than $100,000 in property. Stefon Diggs has denied having any knowledge of or involvement in that attack.
NBC10 Boston reported that Darez pleaded no contest to felony assault charges connected to the elevator incident. Griffith later filed a separate civil lawsuit seeking $10 million against Darez and the apartment complex.
That case was dismissed after a settlement in July 2026, but the terms were not disclosed. The deal did not resolve Griffith’s pending claims against Stefon.
Recent discovery disputes have added more heat. Griffith told the court he produced more than 100 pages of text messages and Instagram communications that he says support his account.
He also argued that Diggs and his team arranged his travel to Washington, D.C., making Diggs’ request for those records unnecessary because the same information should already be in the receiver’s possession. Griffith said he turned over 24 pages of messages involving Diggs’ support staff. Diggs continues to deny all allegations, and the existence of messages does not establish what happened.
Cardi and Diggs went public with their relationship in 2025 and welcomed a son that November. Their romantic status has remained unclear in 2026, especially after a tense exchange outside a Maryland coffee shop went viral.
Diggs later downplayed the incident and described Cardi as “a beautiful talented mother,” while refusing to clearly confirm whether they had reunited.
That complicated relationship makes Cardi’s defense hit differently. She acknowledged that she and Diggs were not on the best terms, yet still chose to challenge Griffith’s credibility publicly. Griffith, meanwhile, is standing by his allegations and insisting Cardi is protecting a man without seeing the full picture.
For now, neither side has won the central legal fight. Diggs says he is the target of a damaging fabrication. Griffith says he is a victim who has produced records supporting his claims. Cardi has planted herself firmly in Diggs’ corner, but a court, not social media, will ultimately decide which version survives.
