Carmelo Anthony and Racquel Smith has the internet leaning all the way in after new Instagram videos appear to show them spending time together in Saint-Tropez, France.
In one clip, Racquel and Melo are seen together inside an elevator, while another shows the pair cozying up during what looks like a luxury vacation. Neither has publicly confirmed a relationship, but the optics are doing plenty of talking. The Carmelo Anthony dating chatter is not brand new either. In September 2025, Atlanta Black Star reported that Anthony and Racquel were spotted together at a Bad Bunny concert in Puerto Rico, where she also shared a close-up of him to her Instagram Story.
For Racquel, the attention comes with a heavier backstory. She was married to former New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith, who was killed in New Orleans on April 9, 2016, after a confrontation that followed a car crash. Smith was shot eight times, seven times in the back, and Racquel was also wounded in the legs. In 2024, Cardell Hayes was sentenced to 25 years for manslaughter after a unanimous retrial conviction.
Will was only 34 when he died. He played for the Saints from 2004 to 2013, helped the franchise win Super Bowl XLIV, and was remembered as a defensive leader during New Orleans’ post-Katrina comeback. He also played college football at Ohio State, where he helped the Buckeyes win the 2002 national championship.
Melo’s love life has been just as public, though for different reasons. He married La La Anthony in 2010, and they share son Kiyan. La La filed for divorce in 2021 after more than a decade of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. Anthony also has a daughter, Genesis, with Mia Burks.
As for Racquel, her publicly confirmed romantic history centers on her marriage to Will. Other rumors have floated online over the years, but without confirmation from named sources, they remain exactly that.
Now, with Saint-Tropez in the backdrop and Instagram doing what Instagram does best, fans are watching to see whether this was just a vacation moment or the soft launch of something real.
