The Carolina Panthers owner, David Tepper, was witnessed throwing a drink at fans during Sunday’s 26-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He left his suite in an irate state as the Panthers suffered their 14th defeat of the season. This season has been marred by negative publicity for the Panthers, with Tepper often throwing temper tantrums, reportedly mismanaging things and overstepping his boundaries in the locker room. This latest incident is a clear indication of an NFL owner who is unable to control his emotions and has caused a lot of disappointment among fans.

Tuesday, the NFL fined Tepper $300,000 for his “unacceptable conduct.”

“All NFL personnel are expected to conduct themselves at all times in ways that respect our fans and favorably reflect on their team and the NFL,” the league said in a statement.

Tepper broke his silence after the fine was announced. However, he did not apologize.

“I am deeply passionate about this team and regret my behavior on Sunday,” he said in the statement. “I should have let NFL stadium security handle any issues that arose. I respect the NFL’s code of conduct and accept the league’s discipline for my behavior.”

Tepper has been the franchise owner since 2018 when he acquired the Panthers for a reported $2.3 billion.

Carolina’s record plummeted to a league-worst 2–14 after the defeat against Jacksonville.
