Brooklyn rapper Casanova turned himself in to police in Manhattan on Wednesday morning, August 15, 2018, after a warrant was issued for his arrest over an alleged physical assault at a New York diner the week before.
According to TMZ, a woman named Niya filed a police report claiming she was attacked by the rapper and another man at the Good Stuff Diner. TMZ reported that Casanova surrendered on a felony second degree robbery charge.
Niya told PIX11 she was only recording her meal for Instagram Live when the incident happened. Authorities said the altercation left her with a broken jaw, a loose tooth and facial lacerations, and that one of the men put her in a sleeper hold.
Casanova’s attorney told TMZ that the rapper adamantly denies the allegation. Everything described here remains an allegation, and the rapper has not been convicted of anything.
