The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that citizens who receive their full COVID-19 vaccine may travel freely.

The new guidance, which arrived on Friday, states that residents who have received their COVID-19 vaccines will no longer be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test to leave the United States unless required by the destination. Vaccinated individuals will also not be ordered to quarantine after arriving back in the U.S.

“Fully vaccinated people can resume domestic travel and do not need to get tested before or after travel or self-quarantine after travel,” the CDC stated in their update. The agency says that vaccinated people are less likely to spread the virus.

Despite the new guidance, vaccinated travelers must be tested and provide a negative test before coming into the United States.

The new CDC advisory applies to those who have received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or the one dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
