Current events have a way of influencing folks’ streaming habits, and the same holds true for the implosion of the Titan submersible that killed all five of its passengers. With so much talk of the Titanic, people have been streaming Celine Dion’s classic “My Heart Will Go On” from the 1997 movie about the doomed ship.

TMZ reports that “My Heart Will Go On” has experienced a huge jump in streaming since the story has taken over mainstream media.

On Spotify, the song has been played over 520,000 times since Thursday. Factoring in Friday and Saturday, the number is expected to be higher.

The OceanGate submersible began its descent to the Titanic wreck on Sunday, but communication was lost shortly after it launched. A search-and-rescue mission ensued, but it was revealed on Thursday that Titan had imploded after a debris field was found near the storied ship’s wreckage site.

All five of the craft’s passengers, including the company’s CEO, are presumed dead. The tragic story has captivated many across the globe, much like Titanic’s heartbreaking story over 100 years ago.
