Pokémon-Shaped Flamin’ Hot Cheeto Sold for Nearly $88K at Auction

Pokémon-Shaped Flamin’ Hot Cheeto

A Flamin’ Hot Cheeto shaped like Charizard—dubbed “Cheetozard”—just sold for an eye-watering $87,840 at auction, proving once again that the internet will pay big money for rare and ridiculous finds.

The three-inch-long Cheeto was listed by Goldin Auctions as part of its February 2025 Pop Culture Elite Auction, with bidding starting at $250 on Feb. 10. Over the course of 60 bids, the price skyrocketed to $72,000, and after factoring in Goldin’s buyer’s premium, the final cost landed just shy of $88,000.

The New Jersey-based auction house announced the sale on social media, sparking mixed reactions from fans. Some people couldn’t believe someone would drop that kind of cash on a spicy snack, while others found the humor in it. “If I was on death row, I’d want this to be my final meal,” one person joked. Another added, “What is wrong with people?” Meanwhile, Cheetos’ official account simply commented, “👀.”

“Cheetozard” has been making waves for years, first discovered and preserved between 2018 and 2022 by 1st & Goal Collectibles, a Georgia-based collectibles store. After going viral in April 2024, the rare snack caught the attention of Pokémon fans and collectors alike.
