The longtime radio host and media executive recently locked in a reported $200 million deal with iHeartMedia, securing his future on The Breakfast Club for at least five more years while extending the growth of The Black Effect Podcast Network. Instead of celebrating the moment, Dame Dash publicly questioned the deal’s legitimacy, suggesting Charlamagne benefited from industry politics and framing it as part of a larger “humiliation ritual.”

Charlamagne responded clearly and publicly.

“When it comes to iHeartMedia, gratitude will always be my attitude,” he said when addressing the deal. “They’ve created space for me to grow not just as talent, but as an executive and true partner through The Black Effect Podcast Network.”

He doubled down on that appreciation, adding, “To say that I’m thankful is an understatement. iHeart is the biggest and best audio company on the planet, and audio is the foundation on which the whole media conglomerate will be built.”

But the tone shifted when Dame Dash’s comments entered the conversation. During a recent episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne named Dash the first Donkey Of The Day of 2026 and didn’t hold back.

“That man is delusional,” Charlamagne said. “You really think people are sitting around in corporate boardrooms plotting ways to stop you? Nobody has to do that because Dame Dash’s biggest obstacle will always be Dame Dash.”

He closed the exchange with a firm boundary. “I’m not talking about you anymore ever. Because I don’t want to feed your ego.”
