Charlamagne Tha God took advantage of his opportunity on The Daily Show With Trevor Noah to speak his mind on Kanye West’s most recent erratic behavior.
Last week, Twitter endured a ranting session by Ye who went on about his issues with Drake, where he brought up his current lack of mental stability and feeling as if he’s being bullied. Eventually, a semi-shady tweet by Ariana Grande promoting her song unexpectedly got turned into a discussion about other people “mental shaming” those who have mental illness. Some people were on West’s side acknowledging the seriousness of the case, but one person who saw through the social media antics was Charlamagne.
Being someone who has been open about his own personal mental health issues, The Breakfast Club co-host refused to have sympathy for the rapper. Charlamagne explained he doesn’t respect Kanye’s inconsistency, saying, “You sat in the White House with Donald Trump, and you said you didn’t have bipolar. You were misdiagnosed. It was sleep deprivation. You were off your medication. You create better without it. But when you get into a rap feud with Drake, the only way you can combat Drake in any way, shape or form is to weaponize mental health.”
He believes the real issue is Drake’s straightforward diss towards Kanye’s Adidas sneaker deal in Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode.” That being said, the ’Shook One: Anxiety Playing Tricks on Me’ author further expressed his disdain by simply describing West’s antics as “whack” and “lame,” adding that the Chicago-bred rap star is ”full of shit.”
