Charlamagne tha God and Rolling Stone Magazine have settled their beef in the most unconventional way: they’ve teamed up to make a donation to the National Black Justice Coalition for an undisclosed amount. Their dispute began after the magazine printed a headline falsely accusing Charlamagne tha God of making transphobic comments during a radio interview with comedian, Lil Duval.
The popular ‘Breakfast Club’ host sent a legal letter to Rolling Stone demanding an apology and retraction after picking up his July interview with Lil Duval who alluded to the fact that he would kill a transgender woman if he discovered he’d slept with one unknowingly. Rolling Stone ran a headline stating that Charlamagne made transphobic comments, which Charlamagne denied and called defamatory, since he in fact never made such remarks during the interview.
After coming to an agreement, Charlamagne and Rolling Stone released a joint statement and explained, “We hope this gesture brings more attention to the very important issue of equal rights and treatment of the LGBTQ community.”
