Incident

New York Knicks legend Charles Oakley has finally reached a deal with prosecutors to settle the February squabble at Madison Square Garden.

Oakley was charged with misdemeanor assault and trespassing after an altercation ensued between the 53-year-old and Garden security at a Knicks-Clippers game in February.

During the game, Oakley reportedly hurled profanities at Knicks’ owner James Dolan, who was sitting a few rows in front of him. In turn, Dolan called for Oakley’s removal, causing Oakley to get angry. He threw a few punches at the MSG employees, just before being escorted out in handcuffs. Oakley was then charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal trespass.
However, after agreeing to a plea deal with the prosecution, Oakley can finally put this highly publicized altercation behind him.

According to reports, the deal indicates charges against Oakley will be dismissed and sealed if the former Knicks baller can stay out of trouble for six months. It also orders Oakley to stay away from the Garden for the next year, but Oakley’s attorney says the former fan favorite doesn’t plan on returning to the arena anyway.
