WNBA star Brittney Griner has filed new court papers in her effort to annul her marriage to Glory Johnson, and the filing makes new claims about the relationship.
According to court documents obtained by USA Today and reported by ESPN, Griner claims Johnson was unfaithful before the couple married. The July 13 filing says Griner learned Johnson had a sexual relationship with a man before their engagement and kept texting an ex boyfriend. Griner says she left those details out of her first request to protect their privacy. No response from Johnson to these claims has been reported.
Griner first sought the annulment on June 5, 28 days after the wedding and one day after Johnson announced she was pregnant. In that original filing, Griner cited fraudulent statements and said she was pressured to marry under duress.
The case has had other turns. On June 29, Johnson filed papers in Arizona seeking temporary spousal support of $20,000 a month from Griner, plus a $10,000 advance toward her attorney fees. The couple was also arrested on April 22 following a fight at their Arizona home, and the WNBA suspended each of them for seven games.
These are claims made in court filings and have not been decided by a judge.
