Ballerific Eats: Chipotle Is Bringing Back the Real MVP of the Menu—Carne Asada Returns

As fall trickles in, Chipotle is reintroducing hungry customers and sports fans to a favorite menu item for a limited time.

Kicking off on September 4th, the Mexican chain restaurant is bringing back Carne Asada to locations across the U.S. and Canada. Known for its bold flavor and fresh ingredients, the steak option is marinated with cumin, coriander, garlic, and oregano, and finished with a splash of lime and a sprinkle of cilantro.

“Carne Asada has consistently been one of our most beloved proteins,” said Chipotle’s Chief Marketing Officer Chris Brandt. “The flavor, the freshness, and the premium steak cut have made it a top request from guests since its initial debut.”

First introduced in 2019, this marks the fourth return of Carne Asada to Chipotle’s menu. Its latest reappearance lines up perfectly with football season. To celebrate, customers who wear a college football jersey to U.S. restaurants after 5 p.m. on Monday, September 15th, can enjoy a buy-one-get-one-free entrée deal.

In another promotional deal to mark its return, Chipotle will offer free delivery on all Carne Asada orders placed through its app or website from September 8th through September 30th.

“The protein’s rich flavor profile is the perfect pairing for any gameday,” said Brandt. “Whether you’re tailgating or couch-gating, this is the steak to savor.”
