Chris Bosh’s mother, Frieda, was arrested in December 2017 on accusations that she exploited a disabled man in connection with a drug operation at a home she had been living in, according to TMZ.
TMZ reported that officials accused Frieda and a man named Johnathan, who also lived at the home, of forcing a disabled man to use his disability check to pay their rent. Officials also alleged Frieda allowed the home to be used for drug distribution as a means of obtaining free narcotics and marijuana from Johnathan.
Frieda spoke with TMZ earlier in a video interview and said she had no part in the illegal activity. She explained that her son owns the home and was trying to evict her, that she could not afford legal fees to fight it, and that she rented the space out to someone else. She said that person was the one running the illegal business.
According to TMZ, officials say Johnathan was the man running the operation. Frieda has continued to deny any involvement in the crime, and the accusations against her have not been proven in court.
