Chris Brown seemingly took a moment to respond to former collaborator Kevin McCall after the songwriter claimed he was owed $25,000 for four songs they worked on together.
Brown did not mention McCall by name but posted on social media, saying, “Remember this: You can’t walk across a burnt bridge. And you know what’s funnier than a troll. A BROKE ONE.”
Earlier this week, McCall spoke on the “Back On Figg” podcast about his financial struggles. He became emotional discussing career setbacks and revealed that he is currently relying on an EBT card for support.
The history between Brown and McCall adds context to the latest exchange. Between 2014 and 2016, McCall publicly accused Brown of withholding royalties. Brown previously responded online by mocking McCall, calling him a “bottom feeder” and posting a video of brand new cars, saying, “I bought this with your money.”
After McCall’s revelation on the podcast, Young Thug stepped up to offer him the $25,000. However, it’s unclear if McCall has taken him up on his offer.
