Security at Chris Brown’s Tarzana residence was put to the test again Wednesday evening when a man was taken into custody after scaling a fence onto the property and allegedly trying to light a fire — the latest in a long string of unwanted intrusions at the R&B star’s California homes.
According to TMZ, police were called to the residence just before 7 p.m. PT on Wednesday, May 13. The suspect was initially spotted at Brown’s gate attempting to gain entry before hopping the fence and making it onto the grounds. Someone at the residence made contact with the man before officers arrived and took him into custody. The caller told police they recognized the individual and said he had been an ongoing problem. The man was arrested for trespassing, and the LAPD is sending the case to prosecutors for possible charges.
The incident is hardly an isolated one for the Grammy-winning artist. In 2016, a woman named Danielle Patti was arrested outside Brown’s home for trespassing — for the second time — after managing to slip past his gate undetected. A year earlier, in 2015, a female fan broke into Brown’s Agoura Hills home while he was away and vandalized the property, resulting in charges of burglary, vandalism, and stalking.
This latest arrest also follows a separate incident just days ago, when a security guard stationed at Brown’s Tarzana property was arrested after firing a CO2-style gun during a heated confrontation with a woman at the front gate. That guard has since been fired.
Meanwhile, Brown’s newly released Brown album is projected to debut at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, though it has drawn mixed critical reception, including a 1.3 rating from Pitchfork.
