When Chrissy Teigen announced that she was expecting earlier this week, fans were quick to speculate. Recently, Teigen underwent breast implant removal surgery, which apparently you’re not supposed to do when pregnant.
Teigen, known for being very outspoken on her socials, went to Twitter to explain. “Oh, it’s quite a story,” Teigen tweeted. “I did the routine pregnancy test you do before surgery. It said it was negative. It was not negative.”
Teigen told her followers that for years now, she has taken a pregnancy test every month, hoping to one day see a positive. In the past, she has been very open about her struggles to get pregnant naturally.
“A few weeks after surgery, I took a test,” Teigen said.
When the test came back positive, she admitted to being a bit scared as she was certain that you should not get your “boobs out while pregnant.”
“So we prayed to the boob surgery gods that everything would be okay,” she told Twitter. “Went to every appointment, terrified. Even without the surgery, I didn’t think I could get pregnant naturally anyway. So the odds just felt…bad.”
Although still worried, pregnancy has been going pretty well for Teigen.
According to CNN, “she hopes her experience getting pregnant naturally will give others, who may have struggled with it in the past, some hope.”
