Claressa Shields and Franchón Crews-Dezurn are still going at it on X, and now Claressa is revealing the exact line she says set her off.
The beef started after DMs surfaced showing Claressa calling Franchón a clout chaser in messages to Chrisean Rock, after seeing a clip of the two of them together. Franchón fired back by calling Claressa a clown and saying she had only brought up Claressa’s name while introducing herself to Chrisean, since she was the last person to fight her.
Claressa is telling a different version of that introduction. “Franchon….. God bless you alright,” she wrote. She said Franchón walked up to Chrisean introducing herself as the champion she is, and that Chrisean did not know who she was, which Claressa said was not Chrisean’s fault. But then, according to Claressa, Franchón described herself as “the one that Claressa Shields was scared of.”
“That is clout chasing,” Claressa wrote. “I’d like to be left alone. We fought, I won. End of our chapter love. God bless.”
She added in another post that she would never introduce herself to someone by using another person’s name, calling it weird.
Franchón was not done. She reminded Claressa of the years she spent showing up for her before any of this.
“Wasnt popping all that [expletive] when me and my husband was driving to Flint/Detroit MANY TIMES to generally support you in your moments,” she wrote. “Not paid, no clout etc… I ain’t see all these new [expletive] there not one time unless they lived in the area. Don’t play w/ me.”
Then she turned her attention to Claressa’s relationship with Chrisean.
“Y’all whole link was clout chasing,” Franchón wrote, taking a shot at the training session the two held back in July. She said bringing up Claressa’s name was simply part of the conversation, and she defended Chrisean, saying she is still new to boxing and does not know much about the sport. She wrote that Chrisean is a woman just starting out who looked up to Claressa, and that Claressa acted like a brat over her mistake and tried to bully her. She closed by telling Claressa she was scared.
Chrisean has already said her piece. On her Kick livestream, she questioned why Claressa wanted to talk to her about her ex, Blueface, when she stays out of Claressa’s relationship with Papoose. She also said she respects everyone who steps in the ring and is still learning who is who in the boxing world.
On paper, the fight itself is settled. Claressa and Franchón made their pro debuts against each other in 2016, and Claressa won by unanimous decision. They ran it back in February at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, where Claressa won all three scorecards 100 to 90 to keep her undisputed heavyweight crown, a day after a brawl broke out at the weigh-in. Claressa Shields has never lost as a pro.
Franchón still holds a super middleweight world title, which is the champion Claressa referenced in her post. Whether there is ever a third fight or not, this one is clearly not over online.
