A story making the rounds in March 2013 claims a woman flew to Atlanta to meet San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and was left waiting at the airport. The account is secondhand and has not been confirmed.
According to the blog Full Court Pumps, a writer there said a friend asked her to help a young woman who was stranded at the Atlanta airport and did not know anyone in the city. The writer said she could not pick the woman up but spoke with her and learned she had found a hotel nearby.
The writer relayed the woman’s version of events. She said the woman told her she had been talking with Kaepernick by Skype and phone for about five months, paid for her own plane ticket, and received a text saying he would be there to get her. After she landed, the writer said, calls and texts went unanswered while she waited more than six hours.
Several things are worth keeping in mind. The woman was not named, the account came to Full Court Pumps secondhand, and Baller Alert has not been able to verify any of it. Kaepernick had not publicly addressed the story at the time this post was published.
For now this is one side of a story told through a third party. We will leave the rest to the people involved.
