Police in Ansonia, Connecticut say a 22 year old man has been charged in the stabbing death of the mother of his young son.
According to NBC Connecticut and News 12 Connecticut, Andre was charged with murder and risk of injury to a child in the death of 20 year old Rosali. Police said Rosali was found bleeding in the street shortly before 5 p.m. on Sunday and was taken to Griffin Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Rosali’s family told reporters that she had been a victim of domestic violence and was trying to start over. Her father said she was afraid of Andre.
Andre was taken into custody without incident Wednesday afternoon outside his home, several days after the incident. He appeared by video before a judge on Thursday and pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $750,000, and the judge ordered him to have no contact with his son.
The charges are allegations, and Andre is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
