Earlier today, Baller Alert posted an anonymous submission making claims about newly drafted NBA rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and a series of private messages. We noted at the time that parts of the screenshots were cropped or blocked out and that we could not verify them. Baller Alert posts what readers send in, and that does not mean the claims are true.
Since then, the site Full Court Pumps has published screenshots it says show the same conversation from the other side. Full Court Pumps reported that people close to Caldwell-Pope believe the messages came from a woman and not from the person described in the submission. A woman identified in those reports as Fatima said the screenshots bearing her picture are false and that she did not send the original submission to Baller Alert.
None of the screenshots or claims on either side have been independently verified by Baller Alert, and the claims about Caldwell-Pope remain unconfirmed. Baller Alert has chosen not to republish the images from either account.
Baller Alert was the first outlet to publish the original submission, and we will update this story if Caldwell-Pope or his representatives respond.
