Lil Nas X’s new collaboration with Wrangler Jeans has sent country music fans into an uproar.

The 20-year-old rap sensation has changed the way the world hears country music after releasing his previously criticized hit song “Old Town Road.” What appears to have sealed the Wrangler deal is his popular line on the track, “My life is a movie, bull ridin’, and boobies, cowboy hat from Gucci, Wrangler on my booty.” Now, the rapper is teaming up with the company that will highlight the clothing brand as well as the artist’s image.

This week, Wrangler debuted its limited-edition capsule collection with Lil Nas X that features four graphic t-shirts and denim products, including cut-off shorts, boot-cut jeans, and a denim button down. The collection is priced from $39-$149. Apparently, country fans aren’t happy with the business move as several have taken to social media threatening to boycott Wrangler. One user wrote, “Really? Supporting an artist that so clearly is mocking country music and the lifestyle it represents? Bad move, Wrangler.” Others wrote that they would no longer buy Wrangler jeans, like one person who summarized the sentiment simply stating, ”Won’t be wearing Wrangler anymore.”

In response, Lil Nas wrote on Twitter “y’all really boycotting wrangler?? is it that deep.” Nevertheless, Lil Nas doesn’t seem to be fazed, he released his music video for the song and reportedly has an EP on the way!
