A Jacksonville couple has been arrested in connection with the 2018 death of their 7-year-old daughter.

According to court records obtained by The Florida Times-Union, Aremo and Anna Akinloba, 44 and 46 years old, are facing charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child and are both being held on $150,000 bail.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service released a warrant for the couple’s arrest after it was found that they allegedly fed their daughter, Omera, a diet of only French fries for five years and did not provide her with any medical treatment, leading to a “rash all over her body.”

The warrant also alleges that Omera was never diagnosed for her rash by a doctor and that when she was 2 years old, the couple stopped vaccinating her. According to WJXT, Omera also suffered from malnutrition.

According to a Florida Department of Children and Family Services report obtained by PEOPLE, Omera died of sepsis on April 12, 2018.

At approximately 5 a.m. According to the DCF report, on April 12, Omera became unresponsive after being ill for several days.

The report states that her parents drove her to the Naval Air Station-Jacksonville hospital instead of calling 911 because they thought they could get there quicker. “Despite lifesaving efforts by the staff,” Omera was pronounced dead at 7:34 a.m.

DCF reported that the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office carried out a death investigation but found “no evidence to suggest abuse or neglect in the home.”
