An all you can eat buffet in Manchester, Connecticut had to close for a short time after a dispute over crab legs turned violent.
According to NBC Connecticut, police were called to the Royal Buffet on a Saturday evening after a woman reported that her 21 year old son had been hurt in a fight. He suffered a broken tooth and a cut lip.
Authorities said the argument began between a married couple and the 21 year old over crab legs at the buffet table. Police said it escalated when the young man was punched in the face. The woman then used pepper spray on the couple in an effort to protect her son, according to police.
Clifford, 45, and Latoya, 38, were arrested. Both were charged with disorderly conduct. Clifford was also charged with third degree assault, and Latoya was charged with threatening.
The restaurant closed while the health department checked the air quality after the pepper spray was released. It reopened at its usual time on Sunday. The charges are allegations, and the case had not been decided at the time of the report.
