Police in Harrisburg say that what looked like a tragic accident at first was actually caught on camera long before it happened.
Dalaysia Terrell-Brown, who is only 17, has been locked up on charges of Murder and Possession of an Instrument of a Crime after she stabbed her 18-year-old boyfriend, Tamar Shaw, to death. While she tried to tell officers it was all a big mistake while they were hanging out in bed, investigators say her Instagram account told a much darker story of what was really going on behind closed doors.
Back on April 6, cops showed up to an apartment on Market Street to find Shaw in bad shape, bleeding out from a hole in his chest. He couldn’t even get a word out to tell them what happened because he couldn’t breathe. He later died at the hospital. Terrell-Brown’s initial story was that they were just chilling and he asked for a knife to cut some paper for a blunt. She claimed she didn’t see him get poked and only realized he was hurt when she moved the covers and “blood began spurting out of the wound.”
The coroner didn’t buy it, though, noting that “The stab wound entered the chest cavity, and this would require significant force.”
The real break in the case came from a tip about her social media. According to the police, Terrell-Brown had several videos on her Instagram showing her harassing Shaw with knives. In one, she allegedly threw a serrated blade at his neck. Another showed a knife similar to the one found at the scene with a caption that said, “lmaoo cut that wrist up.”
In the videos, she was also heard making threats, saying “Shaw ain’t gonna do s–t” and telling people to “let this be a warning.” She’s currently being held without bail in Dauphin County while the legal process plays out.
