A Dallas man has been arrested and charged with murder after police say he confessed to shooting his wife and her two teenage sons.
According to the Associated Press, James, 57, told officials he killed his wife, Victoria, 35, and two children, ages 16 and 13. An arrest affidavit says he told police the family was too loud while he had a headache and that an argument with his wife began around 10 a.m.
The affidavit states that James shot his wife twice and then shot the two boys. It says he waited about an hour before calling police to report what he had done. He was arrested on Monday.
The affidavit also says he told investigators he was tired of the family yelling at him and telling him nothing was wrong. He has been charged, and the charges are allegations that have yet to be tested in court.
Neighbors described a close and caring family. “She had a heart. She was so sweet to everybody,” neighbor Chanel said of Victoria, adding that the teens were smart. “You’d never think that one day he would call and say he killed his kids.”
