Dame Dash Faces Lawsuit Over Upcoming ‘Dear Frank’ Film

Director Josh Webber and Muddy Water Pictures have a major bone to pick with Dame Dash.

It all started when Webby and the Muddy Water team joined forces with Dash to create a movie called “The List.” The Roc-A-Fella co-founder was brought on board to take on the director role. But, things took a turn for the worse when Dash continued to show up high to the set.

That’s when they decided to cut ties, change the film’s name to “Dear Frank,” and move on with the film without Dash. However, things erupted when word got out that their former director was promoting the movie as if he was still a part of it. On top of that, he was incorrectly advertising it under the old name.

As a result, according to TMZ, Webber and Muddy Waters Pictures are suing Dash for defamation, copyright infringement, and they are requesting the judge declare them as the sole owners of “Dear Frank.”

But of course, Dame isn’t just going to lay down and take a beating. He explained to the media outlet that Muddy Pictures and Webber only began their suit against him because he was preparing one against them. His argument lies in the fact that footage was allegedly stolen in order to ditch him. Which is understandable since some of the production was held in his Sherman Oaks, CA home with his own equipment.

In the meantime, the movie is set to premiere next month.
