Dame Dash says his beef with Lee Daniels is over, and Daniels is now an executive producer on Dash’s upcoming Bukowski movie. Dash shared the news on Instagram.
The two were headed for a courtroom fight. Last August, Dash claimed Daniels owed him money after he helped fund Daniels’ early projects, including $2 million he said he put into The Woodsman in 2004. Dash also said he used his famous friends, including Kanye West and Mariah Carey, to promote Daniels’ films, and that he was left out of executive producer and producer credits on Precious, The Butler and Empire. According to court documents, he was seeking at least $25 million.
A judge never ruled on whether the claims could move forward. Instead, the two settled their differences on their own, with Daniels now working on Dash’s latest project.
In his announcement, Dash wrote that the Bukowski movie “gets serious” and that he and Daniels “squashed” the problem between them. He added that he can finally watch Precious, The Butler and Empire after being too sick over them before.
A day later, Dash posted a message about Daniels saying the two should stand together instead of fighting over success, and that the credit should be shared with the people who helped you get there.
