Donald Trump says he has offered the Dana White press secretary job to the UFC CEO himself, announcing the move in a Truth Social post on Saturday.

“I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States,” Trump wrote.
The White House press secretary is the official who speaks for the administration, leads the daily briefings with reporters and answers questions on behalf of the White House. It is one of the most visible jobs in Washington, and Trump wants the man who built the UFC into a global brand standing at that podium.
Trump did not stop at White. He asked him to bring along a team of fighters as assistants.
“I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris,” Trump wrote. “We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left.”
The list reads like a UFC Hall of Fame lineup. Khabib Nurmagomedov retired undefeated and is one of the most respected fighters in the sport’s history. Islam Makhachev, his longtime training partner from Dagestan in Russia, is a UFC champion. Daniel Cormier held titles in two weight classes and now works as a UFC commentator. Amanda Nunes, a Brazilian fighter, is widely considered the greatest women’s MMA fighter ever. Justin Gaethje is known for his all action style, and the “Kayla Harris” in Trump’s post is Kayla Harrison, the two time Olympic judo gold medalist and UFC champion whose photo was included in the post.
The post came with an image of White standing behind a podium bearing the presidential seal, flanked by American flags, along with photos of each fighter mid scream or staring down the camera.

Trump closed the message with a direct appeal. “Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other,” he wrote. “Dana, please take the job!”
White has not publicly responded to the offer.
The post lands in the middle of a chaotic stretch for the role. Karoline Leavitt left the press secretary job in August, saying she wanted to focus on her family. Trump then picked Katie Zacharia, a lawyer and communications adviser for Truth Social, to replace her. Zacharia lasted five days before Trump fired her.
White and Trump go back years. The UFC boss has spoken at Trump’s events and has grown more involved in politics during both of Trump’s terms. In June, Trump hosted a UFC fight on the White House grounds as part of the celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary, a first for the sport.
Whether White trades the Octagon for the briefing room is now the question. Running the UFC is a full time job, and stepping into the press secretary role would put him in front of the White House press corps every day.
