Davante Adams Requests Trade from Raiders

Davante Adams

The Las Vegas Raiders‘ season has been a roller coaster so far. Their offense has struggled, ranking 20th in total yards and last in rushing. Pro Bowl receiver Davante Adams has recorded 18 catches on 27 targets for 209 yards and a touchdown. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, there is growing internal interest in the possibility of trading Adams.

Quarterbacks Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell have both faced difficulties, leading to today’s announcement that Adams has requested a trade. Adams is in the final guaranteed year of his contract, with two team options remaining at $35.64 million and $36.64 million, which the Raiders may find difficult to justify, given their current lack of competitiveness.

A team like the Kansas City Chiefs could see Adams as a strong replacement for wide receiver Rashee Rice, who was placed on injured reserve Monday. The Green Bay Packers could also show interest in a potential reunion. According to Adam Schefter, the Raiders are reportedly seeking a “second-round pick and additional compensation” to consider trading Adams.

With the season now in Week 4, decisions will need to be made soon. It will be interesting to see the level of interest the 32-year-old receiver attracts in the coming weeks.
