Despite the rumors, Dave Chappelle took the stage to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ and spoke on some recent controversial issues in society.

Earlier this week, we reported that rumors were circulating that ‘SNL’ writers were boycotting Chappelle’s episode. However, Chappelle’s team quickly denied the rumors and said the writers were nothing short of supportive of the comedian’s performance.

Well, Chappelle’s episode was aired as scheduled and during his 15-minute monologue, the comedian addressed many different topics.

Chappelle opened the show with a brief statement poking fun at Kanye West and his antisemitism remarks.

“I denounce antisemitism in all its forms ,and I stand with my friends in the Jewish community. And that, Kanye, is how you buy yourself some time,” Chappelle says.

Chappelle went on to explain what he’s learned during his 35 years in the entertainment industry.

“It’s a big deal, he had broken the show business rules,” he said. “You know, the rules of perception. If they’re Black, then it’s a gang, if they’re Italian, it’s a mob. If they’re Jewish, it’s a coincidence and you should never speak about it.”

Chappelle also mentions Kyrie Irving facing backlash for the same antisemitism shortly after Kanye West.

“Kanye got in so much trouble Kyrie got in trouble. Kyrie Irving posted a link of to a movie he seen on Amazon,” Chappelle adds. “No caption on the post or nothing like that, but apparently this movie had Anti-Semitic tropes…and the NBA told him he should apologize and he was slow to apologize. The list of demands to get back into their good graces got longer and longer and this is where I draw the line. I know the Jewish people have been through terrible things all over the world, but you can’t blame that on Black Americans.”
