The legendary and controversial Dave Chappelle is set to hit the Billboard charts for the first time with his Netflix stand-up special “Sticks & Stones.” To accompany his latest accomplishment are his two Grammy Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
According to Billboard, the soundtrack recording of his special is set to debut at No. 4 on the latest Comedy Albums chart (dated Oct. 5).
“Sticks & Stones” released August 26 on the streaming service, and attracted a large amount of controversy among critics and viewers due to his jokes about Michael Jackson and R. Kelly’s abuse allegations, as well as the LGBTQ community, cancel culture and Jussie Smollett’s alleged assault.
Chappelle won his first two Grammys, both in the best comedy album category, in the last two years. ”Dave Chappelle: Equanimity & The Bird Revelation” won in February, after “Dave Chappelle: The Age of Spin & Deep in the Heart of Texas” claimed the honor just last year.
