Deflate-Gate Ball Being Auctioned for $25,000 – blogged by @LoveRubyWoo

Two lucky fans who received a game ball from Patriots wide receiver Brandon LaFell during the AFC Championship are looking to make some big money off of the whole Deflate-Gate scandal. Exactly how much money? $25,000…at least. Laura and Matt Nichols put the ball up for auction on Lelands.com with a starting bid of $25K, and the couple will be taking bids on the item for the next month. According to Joshua Evans, chairman of the site, “this is one of the best conversation pieces that has ever been sold” and he believes the ball could end up selling for as much as hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The husband and wife duo, who are both huge Patriots fans, were already excited enough when LaFell noticed them sitting in the first row of the end zone at Gillette Stadium during the AFC Championship game. After a running touchdown by teammate LeGarrette Blount, LaFell picked up the ball then walked over and handed it to them. A couple of weeks later, when they realized that the ball they got was one of the Deflate-Gate balls, they decided it was time to cash in.

$25,000 might seem like a ridiculous amount but you know somebody’s gonna end up buying it.
