A Texas jury has sided with Deion Sanders in the latest chapter of his split from Pilar Sanders. According to Fox Sports, a Collin County jury in McKinney, Texas, awarded Deion primary custody of the couple’s two sons while the divorce is pending. The jury reached its decision after about two and a half hours of deliberation, following a weeklong hearing.
The couple’s daughter is a separate matter. The jury ordered joint custody of her, so both parents will share time with her. Fox Sports reports the three children are between 9 and 12 years old. Before the ruling, Deion and Pilar had been sharing custody on alternating weeks, and Deion, then an NFL Network analyst, had asked the court for custody of all three children.
A judge also ruled separately that neither parent committed domestic violence following a scuffle last April that led to assault allegations from both sides.
Neither Deion nor Pilar had publicly commented on the verdict at the time of the Fox Sports report. We will keep an eye on this one as the divorce moves forward.
