The woman who placed a false 911 call which ultimately led to the accident that claimed the life of Young Scooter has been arrested.

Tuesday evening, the Atlanta Police Department announced that Demetria Spencer, known as Demi Blanco, was charged with “Transmitting a False Public Alarm under O.C.G.A. 16-10-28, subsection (d)(2),” a law specifically targeting those who make false 911 calls that result in “bodily harm or death.”

Spencer had previously taken to social media to confirm she made the call, reporting a woman being harmed. She claimed the call was placed because she was a victim of abuse. However, upon the police’s arrival, no evidence of a crime or any woman in distress was found. Spencer herself was not present at the residence when authorities arrived.

The call, made on March 28th, prompted a police response to an Atlanta home, where they encountered Young Scooter and another man before the rapper fled the scene, leading to a foot chase. While attempting to jump a fence, Scooter suffered a fatal leg injury, eventually bleeding out and dying.

Atlanta PD has not issued further comments on whether additional charges might be forthcoming. However, a medical examiner confirmed on Tuesday that Scooter died as the result of the accident, not gunshots as previously first.
