NBA Hall Of Famer Dennis Rodman has been caught on surveillance with three others staging a scene in order to steal merchandise out of a popular California yoga shop.
VIBES Hot Yoga studio in Newport Beach, California claims Dennis Rodman and company robbed them in the middle of the afternoon and TMZ has obtained surveillance video to back up the claim. Around 12:45 p.m., Rodman entered the yoga studio with two women and a man.
According to the shop owner, Rodman allegedly tried to distract employees as one of the women started putting clothing into her purse. She even hid behind the former basketball star as she stole items.
In another area of the yoga studio, the male accomplice reportedly picked up a large crystal art piece, valued at $2,500, and put it on a dolly, telling employees he wanted to purchase it. But before they got a chance to say anything, the crystal shattered on the ground, once again distracting the employees, with enough time for the lady thief to grab one more item.
As Rodman and his friends left the store, they refused to pay for the broken crystal, and he reportedly blamed the employees for the damage. According to TMZ, over $500 worth of clothing was stolen, and when paired with the crystal, the decision was made to call the police and file a report for theft.
VIBES employees said that Rodman and his friends “reeked of alcohol.” Newport Beach Police nor Rodman’s legal representation have yet to provide comment on the incident.
