Rumors about Denzel Washington’s marriage made the rounds in July 2013. According to HollywoodLife, unnamed sources claimed the actor was seen getting close to a woman in Malibu, and that his wife, Pauletta, had left the couple’s Los Angeles home for New York. None of those claims were confirmed.
Representatives for the couple pushed back. According to reports from outlets including The Root and BlackAmericaWeb, reps said Denzel and Pauletta were not divorcing.
The couple met on the set of the TV film Wilma in 1982 and have been married for about 30 years. In an earlier interview with Ebony, Pauletta spoke candidly about what it takes to be married to a famous actor, saying, “I see every part.”
