Derrick Rose and Mieka, the mother of his young son PJ, are no longer together. Mieka shared the news herself in an Instagram post on Sunday, October 20, 2013.
In the post, Mieka said PJ is the center of her life and that she and Derrick will work together to raise him. She confirmed they are no longer in a relationship, writing that their friendship “has always been there and will continue to grow.” She also said she is at peace with the fact that their son is the greatest gift she could have asked for.
Some gossip sites, including MediaTakeOut, claimed there was more behind the split. Those claims are unconfirmed, and Baller Alert is not repeating them. As of this report, we had not seen a response to them from either Mieka or Derrick, and no statement from Rose’s representatives.
The 2013 NBA season tips off next week, and Bulls fans are eager to see Derrick back on the court.
