Devon Franklin Officially Confirms Romance with Personal Trainer Maria Castillo: “This Is My Girl” [Video]

Devon Franklin has confirmed his relationship with personal trainer Maria Castillo.

Nearly two months after The Jasmine Brand broke the news of the possible new romance, the couple was spotted together on the red carpet of The Merge Awards. There, they spoke with Baller Alert and shared details regarding their relationship. Franklin referred to Castillo as “My Girl.” He then went on to explain why he was ready to go public with their union.

“Sometimes, you know, you say ‘date,’ and it’s like, oh, yeah, cool. But that implies a moment. When I’m saying, ‘Hey, this is my girl,’ I’m saying that’s a commitment. So I think it’s very important when we make a commitment to be okay with verbalizing that, vocalizing that,” he explained.

Castillo also chimed in, sharing what she loves about Franklin.

“You know, he goes through life constantly thinking of others and he’s also fine. So, but he’s obviously, you know, a man of God, and that comes first, so that was that was my green flag,” she shared.

Back in September, The Jasmine Brand pointed out several social media clues that linked the pair. Castillo shared a photo on Instagram of herself snuggled up to a mystery man, whose silver necklace resembles one often worn by Franklin. Adding to the intrigue, both posted vacation photos on the same day and followed each other on social media.

Franklin divorced actor Meagan Good in 2021 after nearly a decade of marriage.
