Private photos of actress Jennette McCurdy surfaced online this week, and she has responded. We are not republishing the photos.
According to Access Hollywood, the pictures appeared on Reddit and spread quickly. McCurdy tweeted that she sent the pictures to one person and told fans they could connect the dots. She also said she was shocked someone would do this, and she added that she simply speaks with candor. She did not name anyone.
The timing drew attention because only days earlier McCurdy had talked in an interview about a short relationship with Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond. As transcribed by Stiletto Jill, she said it lasted about a week, that the two did not click, and that she went on several dates with him while he was in Los Angeles. People online wondered whether the two stories were connected.
Drummond denied any involvement on Twitter, writing that he had nothing to do with it. There is no evidence in the reports we reviewed that he or anyone else has been identified as the source of the leak.
Sharing someone’s private photos without permission is a violation of their privacy, and fans should keep that in mind before passing them around.
