Jermaine Dupri and Diddy have finally agreed to go heads up in a hit-for-hit battle despite previously saying it wasn’t going to happen.

Bryan-Michael Cox recently announced that the two mega-producers have agreed on a Verzuz-style battle. However, Diddy made it clear that the event will not be sponsored by Verzuz.

“Since we ain’t f*cking with Verzuz no more since they’re f*cking around with our boys, we don’t need to be going against each other,” he said. “Let’s come together and do that Bad Boy, So So Def in Atlanta. It ain’t no Verzuz, it’s just hit for hit.”

JD quickly agreed to participate in the battle, saying, “let’s do it.”

In another video, Diddy clarified his statement and says his issue is with Triller, who bought out the company a while back.

“Earlier today when we were having a conversation. When me and JD were talking about Verzuz, I mistakenly said Verzuz instead of Triller. So to clarify it: We’re not f*cking with Triller until they take care of Timb and Swizz for Verzuz.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland created Verzuz to bring some peace to everyone impacted by the virus. In 2021, Triller bought out the company for an undisclosed amount.

However, Swizz and Timb have filed a $28 million lawsuit against Triller for failing to pay the producers their share. The company denied the allegations and plans to file a countersuit against the two.
