During their first interview following Diddy’s October 2025 sentencing, the 19-year-old sisters spoke candidly about growing up under intense public scrutiny while preparing to introduce their clothing brand, 12TWINTY1. The twins sat down with Nischelle Turner of Entertainment Tonight to discuss their family, their ambitions, and why they refuse to carry the weight of headlines that do not belong to them.
“People fail to realize that just because he’s our dad doesn’t mean…like his press is his own press. Our press is our own press,” D’Lila explained. “People fail to understand that we are also individuals. Like it’s separate. So I don’t have any fear.”
That distinction is central to the Combs twins’ message. They understand that their father’s criminal case will remain part of the public conversation, but they are not allowing it to freeze their plans or push them out of the spotlight.
“We’ve never allowed any of that to stop us. Like we have to keep going. And it’s honestly just made us push and work harder because you know we’re not going to stop,” Jessie added. “Honestly, having a twin and having other siblings has helped because you always have people there. But also, our parents raised us to be strong.”
A federal judge sentenced the mogul to 50 months in prison on October 3, 2025, after a jury convicted him on two prostitution related charges. The jury acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. The sentence included five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine.
Diddy is serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. The Federal Bureau of Prisons database listed his projected release date as February 23, 2028, as of June 2026. That date could still change based on federal custody calculations or developments connected to his case.
Despite his incarceration, Jessie said her relationship with her father remains strong.
“He’s been very focused on being a better person for his family,” Jessie said.
The Combs twins also revealed that they continue to seek his input while developing 12TWINTY1, particularly because of his experience in the clothing business. Diddy expanded his entertainment operation into fashion through Sean John, making clothing an established part of his business career long before his daughters launched their own label.
“We definitely are very close, and he gives the best advice. Also [in terms of cf] clothing, he’s very, very knowledgeable in that aspect,” Jessie shared. “So, we ask him all the time like, ‘We need help on this. We need help on that.’ And he’s always going to be there and tell us the right answers. He’s literally never wrong. Like everything that he has told us about this [process] has been so helpful.”
Still, the sisters want consumers to understand that access to advice does not mean the business was simply placed in their hands. The Combs twins pushed back against the assumption that being raised in a wealthy entertainment family automatically guarantees success without discipline or real work.
“I feel like something that is misunderstood a lot is that we’re given everything and everything just comes to us,” Jessie said. “We really are very hardworking, and we work for what we want, as our dad has always told us: you have to go get your success.”
“Just because we come from a wealthy, famous family doesn’t mean that like, oh, we’re just out here like not doing anything, sitting in our beds expecting like success to come like no like we are putting in the work,” D’Lila added.
Their fashion ambitions did not suddenly appear after their father’s trial. According to Vogue, Jessie and D’Lila made their couture runway debuts alongside their sister Chance during Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda presentation in Venice in 2021.
Their late mother, Kim Porter, worked as a model and hoped to see her daughters enter the fashion industry. That history gives 12TWINTY1 a deeper meaning. The label is not only a business move. It is also connected to the style, confidence, and creative influence that surrounded the sisters while they were growing up.
“We’ve wanted to have a clothing line for many, many, many years. Now is the time because we’re becoming adults. We’re 19-years-old. We’re not in high school anymore. We’re becoming young women. We’re becoming our own individuals. So, now is the perfect time,” D’Lila explained.
According to the official 12TWINTY1 website, Jessie and D’Lila have been selecting matching outfits and styling themselves since they were three years old. The sisters said the brand’s name comes from their December 21 birthday. The numbers 12 and 21 mirror one another, while the word “twin” replaces part of the number sequence to represent their bond.
The sisters introduced the brand with the 777 collection, a unisex luxury streetwear release featuring heavyweight cotton pieces, signature number detailing, and designs intended for different ages, genders, and sizes. The official store lists seven pieces across three colorways, including hoodies, sweatpants, shirts, and tank tops.
“So 777…first of all, we see that number everywhere. We’re also 7 minutes apart. So, that’s like a really key factor. It was also our mom and our dad’s favorite number,” Jessie said, explaining the meaning behind the collection. “1221’s our birthday. December 21st. So, we just wanted to make it feel like ours.”
They also consider 777 their angel number and connect it to faith, completeness, and their goal of creating clothing that makes customers feel confident. That personal symbolism helps separate the label from a celebrity merchandise drop. Every major part of the concept comes back to their relationship as twins and the family influences that shaped them.
The young business owners kept the debut campaign within the family by featuring their brothers Quincy Brown, Justin Combs, and Christian “King” Combs as models for the 777 collection.
That choice reinforces what Jessie and D’Lila have been saying throughout their first major interview. Family remains part of their foundation, but their identities and professional futures belong to them.
The Combs twins are not pretending their last name comes without complications. Instead, they are betting that consistency, stronger designs, and a clear point of view will eventually speak louder than the circumstances surrounding their father. With 12TWINTY1, Jessie and D’Lila are not asking the public to forget where they come from. They are asking for the space to show where they are going.
