DJ Vlad is pushing back after Joyner Lucas blasted him over a copyright lawsuit, saying the situation was strictly about protecting his content, not personal vendettas or clout-chasing.

In a new interview with Wack100, Vlad gave his version of what led to the public fallout. He explained that Joyner reposted a VladTV interview clip featuring comedian Aries Spears making fun of UK rappers. The timing was crucial: Joyner was in the middle of a heated exchange with British rapper Skepta, and the Spears clip seemed to support Joyner’s position.
Vlad says the repost was done without permission, and worse, the watermark was removed. He reached out to Joyner’s manager with what he believed were reasonable options: either license the footage, sit down for a VladTV interview, or face legal action for copyright infringement.

But Joyner refused. According to Vlad, instead of working through the options, Joyner fired back with a scathing message, cursing him out and daring him to go to court.

That message was later made public by Lucas on Instagram, where he accused Vlad of trying to extort him into an interview.

Lucas has not responded to Vlad’s recent comments but has made it clear he has no interest in working with VladTV.
