A woman seen with Donald Sterling in recent weeks says there is nothing romantic going on. A woman named Raquel told TMZ in July 2014 that she and Sterling are not a couple and that she works for him.
“We’re not in a relationship, he’s a married man,” Raquel told TMZ when its cameras caught up with her in Los Angeles. TMZ reported that she described the arrangement as professional.
The claim echoes what V. Stiviano told TMZ in April, when she said Sterling was not her boyfriend. Sterling was banned for life by the NBA in April 2014 after a recording of racist comments attributed to him became public, and his future with the Los Angeles Clippers has been the subject of daily headlines since.
Deadspin also published photos around the same time showing Sterling relaxing poolside and chatting with a group of women. Neither Sterling nor his representatives had publicly commented on the photos when they were published.
