Dr. Dre may be a billionaire, but his oldest daughter claims she is destitute and living out of her car despite multiple pleas to her father for financial help.
LaTanya Young said she now works as a delivery driver for DoorDash and Uber Eats to support her family, but it’s not enough. Young claims she hasn’t received any money from her music mogul dad in 18 months.
“I’m taking odd jobs just to make it now — I got paid $15 an hour as an assembler at the warehouse. I’m trying to keep my head above water. I’ve been in debt for a while.”
The single mother of 4 told the Daily Mail, “My kids are staying with friends— they are not living in the car, it’s just me.”
LaTanya said she’s so broke she fears losing her rental car because she cannot afford to pay the fees.
“The car is a pretty penny,” Young explained. “It’s an SUV that costs $2,300 for three weeks, and I only paid for one week. Sooner or later, they are going to take the car.”
The 38-year-old revealed that she hasn’t talked to her famous father in 18 years and only communicates with him through his team. She did admit that her dad has helped her out financially in the past but stopped paying in January of 2020.
“His lawyer has said that my dad doesn’t want to help me because I’ve spoken about him in the press,” she explained, noting, “I feel like I’m damned if I do, I’m damned if I don’t.”
