A Florida teen has been arrested after allegedly posing as a doctor in West Palm Beach, according to Inside Edition and local authorities.
The 18 year old, named Malachi in reports, who went by Dr. Love, allegedly opened his own practice called New Birth New Life Medical Center and Urgent Care and even created a website for it.
Authorities say they became suspicious after a complaint was made and decided to follow up. An undercover investigator posed as a patient at the center. She says the teen performed a physical exam on her and offered medical advice.
This reportedly is not the first time. The teen was allegedly seen posing as a gynecologist at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach in January 2015. He was told to stop, but authorities determined no crime had been committed because he was only found walking around in a lab coat and stethoscope. In December, he was reportedly stopped again after allegedly trying to practice at a facility in Boynton Beach.
During a press conference on Wednesday night, he reportedly declined to answer questions but did issue a statement. “I am deeply saddened and a little disrespected by some of the things that have come forth,” he said. “My attorneys are working hard, they’re working around the clock to make sure this issue gets resolved in the best way possible.”
He has not been convicted of anything.
